Aikido

Aikido was founded by master Morihei Ueshiba based on his training in styles such as Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. Aikido is characterised by its circular motions, harmonious movements, throws and wrist and arm controls.

Aikido is known for its harmonious flowing techniques.

Many of O Sensei Ueshiba’s senior students went on to create their own styles of Aikido, such as Yoshinkan, Yoseikan, Shudokan and Ki Aikido.

At Budo Live, Aikido is being taught by Paul Wood Sensei, an experienced and skilled exponent of the art.

In 2006 the UKBF hosted a seminar in which one of O Sensei’s senior western students the late Alan Ruddock, taught and gave us insight into the founder’s original art.

Includes all major styles such as Yoseikan, Yoshinkan, Shudokan etc.
