The United Kingdom Budo Federation (UKBF) has awarded the grade of 7th Dan Shotokan Karate to Keith Prole Sensei.

Keith began his martial arts training at the famous Leeds Budokan in 1978. The Budokan was run by Shihan Frank Ryder, a student of Kenshiro Abbe and a former British Judo Champion. Keith studied Shotokan Karate at the Budokan under Ron Taylor 5th Dan.

In 1989 Keith moved into kickboxing and trained under the legendary world champion Ronnie Green. Keith enjoyed a successful full contact career which has enriched his Karate.

Keith runs The Dojo Martial Arts Academy in Batley.

The UKBF  would also like to congratulate Batley Aikido instructor Paul Wood on receiving the grade of 4th Dan from his teacher Roger Bawcutt 7th Dan.

Keith’s award was presented in person by UKBF directors Mark Wood and Julian Mallalieu.

Congratulations to both Keith and Paul, two leading lights in the UKBF’s Karate and Aikido divisions respectively.
